Get to Know Judge Brewer:
Judge Scott Brewer is a lifelong advocate for justice in Talladega County. Appointed District Judge by Governor Kay Ivey in 2024, he is now seeking the Republican nomination in the May 19, 2026 primary election. Judge Brewer began practicing law in 2004, gaining experience across multiple areas of the court system. For 16 years, he served as an Assistant District Attorney for Talladega County—prosecuting felony cases, standing up for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, and handling juvenile and family court matters. His dedication, legal knowledge, and steady leadership ultimately led to his appointment to the bench.
Upon appointing him as District Judge, Governor Ivey described Brewer as “a well-known lawyer and prosecutor” with “decades of experience serving the people of Talladega County.”
Judge Brewer holds degrees from the University of Alabama and the University of Tennessee, and earned his law degree from Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law.
Beyond the courtroom, he remains deeply involved in the community. He serves on the International Motorsports Hall of Fame Commission—recently elected as an executive board member—and sits on the board of the United Way of North Talladega County. He is also a member of Leadership Sylacauga.
Judge Brewer is married to the former Penny Davis of Munford. Together they have two children, Marissa and Lindsey, and two grandchildren, Haiden and Sawyer. They attend Golden Springs Baptist Church in Anniston.
